Think about America at its greatest. Now, think about America over the last 50 years or so. What has changed? Is it a sense of personal responsibility?
I remember reading an article about 30 years ago entitled “Our Blameless Society”. It listed many different situations where people did stupid things, and in every case found a way to avoid personal responsibility. Over the last 30 years, it’s only gotten worse.
Not only are people increasingly unwilling to accept responsibility for their stupid actions, there is also a significant increase in a sense of entitlement. (e.g. Don’t expect me to work a second job, the government should give it to me.)
There is no longer any shame associated with taking from the government (a.k.a. your neighbors). If they have a bigger house, or better car, then you deserve more. It’s only fair, right?
Maybe it’s genetic, because my brain just can’t work that way. There were times in my life when my situation was dire. I could have filed for bankruptcy...

State GOP chief pleads to keep job
By Hillary Chabot, Boston Herald, 12/28/2010
The embattled head of the Bay State’s beleaguered Republican Party made an impassioned New Year’s plea yesterday to keep her job as she tries to beat back a move to oust her after the GOP’s astonishing election-year wipeout in the congressional and statewide races. (This is an awesome lead sentence. Great work Hillary!)

Just wondering if people all over this state are willing to have local gatherings,(of course after holidays we could start) for local talk, info, get to know one another- maybe a south shore chapter-north shore-western ma chapter something like that.
-have the meeting same night all over state-then next day can post-update-share new info--info discussed at meeting
i love this site and think it can and will make a difference because of all the people involved and more to come.
Thanks to roy and all the hard work that goes into this, and it will start to cost $$ for this site to move forward, so say have a meeting dues of like $2. per person per meeting, and the more people we can involve the better for U, for us, for ur cities and towns.
Any ideas?? would love to hear them
thanks lynn

Can anyone explain Barney Frank to me? Let’s start with his liberal, elitist, you-dare-question-the-great-and-powerful-barney-frank attitude. Then, you’d think the male prostitution scandal could have been enough to end his political career, but he walked away from that smelling like a rose. What about the pot growing boyfriend? Frank was there when the place was raided, yet he walked away unscathed. The OneUnited deal smelled to high heaven. Maxine Waters is being investigated, why not Barney Frank? What about Paloma Partners? Barney Frank told the ethics committee that he would like to accept a $1500 plane ride. What he got was a luxury trip on Paloma’s corporate jet for a stay in Sussman’s mansion in the Virgin Islands. (just a little more than a $1500 plane ride) But the fact that he wasn’t truthful in his disclosure to the ethics committee was OK with them. This mansion in the...

My concern is MITT ROMNEY
people all over this great nation thinks he is the one, well being from massachusetts i have to disagree
1) mitt care same as obie care/ mandates are killing people as well as skyrocketing prices and overcrowding of emergency rooms and that is since the fix that mitt care gave us. Care is spiraling downhill as prices increase-
2) mitt is a progressive, rino, whatever ur pleasure
3) when mitt ran against kennedy he was clearly-ANTI SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHT
4)he is playing a fake conservative like scott brown did--FOOL ME ONCE......
i am worried that not enough people know him and his record, as i was always posting on mitts page exposing him, he has since disconnected me-TYPICAL POLITICIAN- does not want to hear ur point of view.--THIS WORRIES ME
we need to keep track of him also and get his progressive agenda known out there.
