Below is the response from Senator Brown in regard to his vote in favor of NDAA 2012 with its controversial language regarding "indefinite detention", which many interpret to mean the governement can use the military to detain U.S. citizens on U.S. soil, without the benefit of due process. An act that would be in direct conflict with our rights under the Constitution.
I responded to the email below with another email pointing out that while I accept his explaination that he believes it would not apply to U.S. citizens, that many citizens, members of the media, and other members of congress DO believe this applies to U.S. citizens. At a minimum, there is terrible ambiguity in the law that must be corrected. As a matter of fact, there are already bills in the House and Senate designed to correct this. I have asked Senator Brown if he is willing to join in the effort to fix this bill to ensure that it can never be used against a U.S. citizen detained on U.S. soil. I will post his response if, or when,...

Those of you who have been looking at my Facebook wall recently may be wondering why I have so many status updates about the Health and Human Services mandate. Stated plainly, the mandate is a disgusting, tyrannical overreach that violates religious liberty solely for the political and financial gain of Obama allies. That summary might be too strong for many of you, so I will use this note to break down each part of my objection.

In short, part 1021 of the recently passed National Defense Authorization Act allows the government to use the military, on U.S. soil, to detain U.S. citizens who are suspected of committing a “belligerent act”, and to hold them without charges, without right to a lawyer, without any rights at all! By all accounts I’ve seen, this provision is in direct violation of our rights under the United States Constitution. The legislations cannot be allowed to stand.
Here are all 86 Senators who voted for NDAA. Let them know how you feel about it, anon.

Happy New Year! I’m writing on a matter I believe to be of great importance. That is, the rift that is developing over the “electing” of the Mass GOP Party Chairman Robert Maginn. On Friday a story was publish in the Boston Globe that spoke of the facts the Mr. Maginn donated to the campaign of Chuck Schumer, and more importantly, to Deval Patrick while many of us were working hard to elect the GOP candidate Charlie Baker. This is seen as a slap in the face to many and as hypocrisy from the man that would now lead the state GOP. There were additional troubling facts, like the fact that his name, and that of his company, were both “misspelled” on the donation form, conveniently keeping them buried until recently. ...

At the end of this past summer, I wrote an article outlining how President Obama would most likely return from his vacation on Martha's Vineyard with a jobs plan resembling the 2009 stimulus. True to form, the President did just that. Now he is going around the country campaigning under the guise of promoting his jobs plan.
The President's jobs bill is nothing more than a rehash of failed Keynesian policies that he has tried over the course of his presidency with terrible results. Aside from the dreadful performance of our President, what is most egregious this time around is his engagement in class warfare .
At every stop on the President's tour, he reiterates that the rich must pay more of their "fair-share," promoting the concept that our economy is a...

America remains in the crosshairs. The point of contention amongst analysts is whether al-Qaeda’s current capabilities necessitate greater concern. In ascertaining the nature of such a risk it is important to understand the changing dynamic of this lethal adversary. The decentralized structure of today’s al-Qaeda is far different than the hierarchical organization that launched the devastating terrorist attacks on New York and Washington in September 2001. Although al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden had been driven out of Afghanistan and into the lawless tribal areas of Pakistan in December 2001, the threat remained. Bin Laden took the time to construct a solid ideological foundation upon which to expand al-Qaeda by attracting a spectrum of regional militant Islamic groups and ‘franchised’ their operations. This process led to the creation of al-Qaeda franchises in Egypt, Iraq, Libya, Kashmir, Algeria, Uzbekistan, Malaysia and the Philippines. Those that comprise al-Qaeda share the view that violent...
